I played today, with 1,500 starting chips. I got up to 2,000 right away. There were some big players near me, as Gavin Smith was at the next table, and Michael Mizrachi was right near me as well. But, I had no luck at all today, and I’m feeing pretty sick. I can’t get it going so far in the WSOP.
The highlight was I had a $1,000 last longer with Gavin, and I outlasted him for my first win of the WSOP. Hopefully, I can get some momentum going.
Early on, I got Aces twice, but couldn’t build pots at all. I got ground down, and was finally out in the third level.
Tomorrow is the shorthanded, $2,500 No Limit, I’m hoping to do better in that. Iam pumped up to perform much better over the next couple days.
Also, I am coaching a player in the Mansion Poker Pro-Am Challenge on Monday. I will coach an amateur player, as he takes on Gavin Smith, John Gale, and Todd Brunson, as well as two other amateurs for a $500,000 top prize. This should be good fun, and I encourage everyone to tune in to FSN when it airs, which I think is the 12th of July.
I’m keeping my confidence up for tomorrow. That’s going to be my day.
