Getting Ready for the $50K

The $50K starts tomorrow at 5 p.m. at the WSOP.  It’s officially known as Event #2: The Poker Player’s Championship. The games played are Limit Hold’em, Omaha Hi-Low Split-8 or Better, Seven Card Razz, Seven Card Stud, Seven Card Stud Hi-Low Split-8 or Better, No-Limit Hold’em,Pot-Limit Omaha, 2-7 Triple Draw Lowball.  The field will be tough but my best approach to the game is to play poker with the attitude to have fun. That’s my plan, no matter how tough the field is, how big the stakes are, or what game is being played.

I’ve been in Las Vegas since leaving Arizona for the World Team Poker event held at the Golden Nugget last week.  I’ve spent every day with a personal trainer that is torturing me working me very hard, and early today I left the personal trainer behind and went out into the desert by Lake Mead and hiked up through Anniversary Narrows.  You have to see it.

Nature’s art

Getting out away from the city and enjoying the quiet and peace of a place like this gives me the chance to exercise and open my thoughts for the beauty in our life that we miss too many times because we are too busy.  This is the best way to prepare for a big poker tournament, step back, take a break, and then get ready to send them out looking for their bikes.  That’s my plan.
